Ambassador Hugo Rodriguez Joins Jetr Global Board of Advisors

Washington, D.C. — Jetr Global Sports + Entertainment is proud to announce the appointment of Ambassador Hugo F. Rodriguez, Jr. to its Board of Advisors. A distinguished American diplomat and expert in international consular affairs, Ambassador Rodriguez brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience at the U.S. Department of State, where he played a central role in advancing U.S. foreign policy across the Western Hemisphere and modernizing global consular operations.
Ambassador Rodriguez most recently served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Senior Advisor in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, where he led a sweeping reorganization of the U.S. Passport Directorate and helped launch the Online Passport Renewal system—one of the Department’s most significant digital transformations in recent years. In 2022, he was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as U.S. Ambassador to Nicaragua. His career also included senior assignments in Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Italy, and multiple leadership roles in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.
Currently, he serves as the James C. Wheat Chair of Leadership at Hampden-Sydney College’s Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest, mentoring the next generation of public servants. A fluent Spanish and Italian speaker and certified executive coach, Ambassador Rodriguez is widely respected for his strategic insight, global outlook, and deep commitment to innovation, integrity, and mentorship.
